The Islands and Resorts

Jamaica has warm weather year round and easy air connections from most U.S. cities.  You can swim with the dolphins, climb Dunns River Falls, go ziplining, shop or party on the “hip strip” and enjoy one of seven Sandals Resorts on Jamaica.

• Sandals Negril is on Jamaica’s best beach with seven miles of white sand fronted by calm clear turquoise water.  Sandals Negril offers every water sport imaginable from snorkeling to scuba diving, waterskiing, sailing and kayaking and it’s all included.   You’ll find spectacular new swim up river suites, a laid back atmosphere and some of the best sunsets anywhere.  Sandals Negril is the resort to choose if you are happiest near the water and want to relax with every luxury a step or two from the beach. Check prices and availability here.
• Sandals Whitehouse is on another beautiful beach on the South Coast of Jamaica.  At this resort every room is beachfront and there are three themed villages to choose from, each with its own swimming pool.  The villages are connected by meandering paths through manicured grounds scattered with hammocks and gazebos.  In the evening Sandals Whitehouse has a more formal atmosphere with an Italian styled piazza lit by tiki torches and scented by tropical flowers.  This is the Sandals Resort to choose if you want the best of everything all to yourself… Check prices and availability here.
• Sandals Grande Ocho Rios is the largest Sandals Resort and really two resorts in one.  The hillside villa section offers bungalows with private or semi-private pools and the Riviera side is oceanfront.  The two areas are connected by shuttles and it’s very easy to move about the resort day and night.  There are several large pools with swim up pool bars and guests here enjoy more restaurants and bars than at any other resort.  The beach at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios is smaller but this end of Jamaica is ideal for activities such as swimming with the dolphins, horseback riding and ziplining.  Plus greens fees are included at nearby Sandals Golf and Country Club.  Guests have resort hopping privileges at Sandals Dunns River so this is a great resort if you want lots of choices and activities and private pools in a casual garden setting. • Sandals Dunns River Villagio features an infinity pool and waterfall patterned after Dunns River Falls, a popular nearby attraction.  Sandals Dunns River has resort hopping privileges and all the activities mentioned in our review of Sandals Ocho Rios but this is a more elegant, upscale resort.   It is also more compact, so if you like everything close to your room this would be an ideal choice.  The resort has an Italian theme and you’ll find fountains, strolling violinists, a brick fired pizzeria and lights twinkling in the piazza styled courtyard at night.  Check prices and availability here.
• Sandals Montego Bay is only minutes from the airport so ideal for a shorter vacation or those seeking the nightlife and shopping found at Montego Bay’s “hip strip”.  The beach is generous and the party never stops at Sandals Montego Bay.  Consider the new Bay Roc Villas for beachfront accommodations with butler service.  Guests at Sandals Montego Bay have dining and resort hopping privileges at Royal Caribbean and Sandals Inn.  Check prices and availability here.
• Sandals Royal Caribbean is also near Montego Bay but a much smaller resort with a refined European flair.  You can have high tea each afternoon and elegant meals in the evening.  The private offshore island adds an special touch of romance with comfy beach beds, swim up pool bar and popular Thai restaurant.  Guests at Sandals Royal Caribbean have dining and resort hopping privileges at Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Inn. St Lucia as been voted the most beautiful island in the Caribbean.  The Pitons rise straight from deep blue sea and dense green rainforest surrounds golden sandy beaches and coves.  This is a great destination for active vacations combining fun in the sun with hiking, sailing and 4 wheel drive excursions.  Oprah Winfrey named St Lucia #1 in her five best places in the world to go and here you’ll find three fabulous Sandals Resorts.

• Sandals Grande St Lucian is surrounded by water with turquoise Rodney Bay on one side and the deep blue Atlantic on the other.  Most rooms have oceanviews.  The beach is generous and the water calm enough for waterskiing, tubing, scuba, snorkeling, kayaking and more, all included at no charge.  Resort hopping is popular with 15 minute shuttles to Sandals Halcyon and Sandals Regency La Toc.  The fabulous “Gordon’s” restuarant is open to guests in butler category rooms from all 3 resorts. Day tours to the Pitons, Marigot Bay and nearby Martinique are outstanding.  Check prices and availability here.
• Sandals Regency La Toc Golf and Country Club has accommodations scattered from beach level to the top of a bluff with spectacualar 180 degree views.  Regular shuttle service serves guests wishing to ride rather than walk up & down the hill.  The beach is wide and long and there are great waves for body surfing.  There are two main pools (one on the bluff and one below), numerous restaurants and bars located throughout the resort  and a 9 hole executive golf course on site with greens fees included.  Guests have resort hopping privileges at Sandals Halcyon and Sandals Grande St Lucian.  Check prices and availability here.
• Sandals Halcyon is the smallest resort on St Lucia.  The gardens are spectacular, the atmosphere casual and the service personal.  Happy guests return again and again!  This resort is undergoing extensive renovation over the next 12 months and the all new guests rooms will be substantially larger.  Check prices and availability here.

The Bahamas are known for duty free shopping, snorkeling, scuba diving and casinos.  Nassau has convenient non-stop flights from a number of U.S. gateways so you can reach the islands and year round sunshine in a few hours. Be advised however that temperatures can be cool during mid winter months.

• Sandals Royal Bahamian is an upscale resort located on Cable Beach near Nassau’s famous shopping district, casinos and Paradise Island. The resort features a fabulous spa, expansive pools and a private island with its own swim up pool bar, restaurant and Zen Garden.  Dining options range from the elegant Baccarat and Crystal Room to homemade potato chips by the bar.  Don’t miss them!  Entry level rooms have no patio or balcony so we usually recommend you pay a bit more and enjoy the wonderful weather and beautiful views.  Check prices and availability here.

Antigua boasts more than 360 beaches, a different one for every day of the year, world class sailing and casinos for a little man made excitement.

• Sandals Grande Antigua combines the elegant new Mediterranean Village and the colorful Caribbean Grove on one of the whitest sand beaches anywhere.  Most of the oceanview rooms are in the new section but the very popular beachfront and private pool rondovals are part of the original resort.  The shopping plaza, garden paths and beach connect to the two side of the resort and guests have access to all pools, restaurants and services regardless of room type.  Check prices and availability here.
